二千年初夏至密云，是时，水库水位距正常水位下降了七、八米，甚忧其某日也将告枯竭。北京近年天热风大沙多水少，环境日趋恶劣，真不知日后人将何处去？作此词以永留此一派青山绿水。
登临眺远走燕山，
潮白起波澜。
叠嶂青峦跑兽脊，
几炊烟，
一抹斜阳。
乌鹊倦坠，
布谷惊啼，
月满挂垂杨。
风漩千洄逐绿浪，
涟漪渐变长。
江波浩淼蓬莱小，
又以为，乱岛东洋。
金银夜香，
蔷薇日艳，
他乡是故乡。

During the early summer of 2000, I went to Huairou, and found that the water had dropped about seven or eight meters below the normal line in the reservoir.I am concerned that one day, it will disappear altogether.In recent years, Beijing has been plagued with excessive heat, sand storms, and receding water.As the environment deteriorates, I wonder where we as the human race will go in the future.This poem is meant to immortalize the green planet we used to know.

The waves, the white waves, billowing forward
Rows and rows of green mountains
And ridges where animals roam
Rising smoke from someone’s kitchen
The sun sets
Ravens and magpies all begin to retire
Suddenly I hear a cuckoo
The Moon rises, bright and round

The wind makes green waves on the land, all around
