提要：慈悲是佛教教义的核心，慈悲理念的具体实践是布施。以功德福田思想为指导的慈悲布施行为的兴起，是中国佛教慈善事业的直接起因。本文还对中国当代佛教的慈善实践做了概述，认为佛教的慈悲实践是构建和谐社会的积极力量。

The Theory and Practice of Karnā and Serving Society in Chinese Buddhism

Abstract:
　　The spirit of karunā is the core of Buddhist theory. Kara is a practical method in Mahayana. In the time of great path, karunā is even regarded as the Buddha nature. By promoting it to the position of Buddha nature, it shows the great path through which a Buddhist pays great attention to karun?ā. The appearance of the thought of karunā directly leads to the dominance of the bodhisattva belief. The story of bodhisattva is welcomed and confirmed by common people. The special four  bodhisattva belief in Chinese Buddhism is a good explanation to this concept. A Bodhisattva has becomes a kind of personality for great path believers to pursue, which builds the karunā
